Short Term Scientific Missions
(STSM)
The aim of a STSM as defined by COST guidelines is to contribute to the scientific objectives of a COST Action.
These Missions (Exchange Visits) are aimed at strengthening the existing
networks by allowing scientists to go to an institution or laboratory in
another COST member state to foster collaboration, to learn a new
technique or to take measurements using instruments and/or methods not
available in their own institution/laboratory. They are particularly intended for
young scientists. In addition STSMs may also be used to reimburse students attending a training school.
Open call for STSM Applications sponsord by FA0702 Action
I am pleased to announce an open call for applications for short term scientific mission (STSM) grants. Applications can be submitted at any point in time to be considered by GEMINI’s Executive Committee. However, the Committee will monitor the grants applied for and the amount of money spent and therefore may close the call for applications at its discretion with no further notice.
To apply for an STSM please read the guidelines and application process. In addition to the general rules governing STSMs by COST, your proposed project should fall within one of the priority areas for this call.
Please submit your full application and all related documents (as explained in the guidelines) to secretary@cost-gemini.eu.
The following rules apply:
- Suitable applications will be funded when received.
- Applications will be funded on a first come first served basis.
- Homogeneous distribution among members and Countries (OUT bound)
- Avoidance of overcrowding of single labs (IN bound)
- Relevance to the overall content of the action (Priority list attached)
Your application will be reviewed by Cost-Gemini’s Executive Committee of the action (Chair, Vice-Chair, WG Leaders and Deputy Leaders). In the case of a tie after voting, the chairman’s vote will be the deciding factor. If the application is originating or involving the respective institute of one of the members of the Executive Committee, that member will not be involved in the evaluation process of that particular application! I hope the above is clear. Please feel free to distribute this call to those that may be interested!
If you have any further questions or need any further information please contact secretary@cost-gemini.eu.
